Session Title: Impact of Covid19 on Talent management

Session Description: Covid-19 has caused tectonic shifts in how businesses operate across the globe. Remote working and digital workplace collaboration adoption has swept across the world in what can only be described as a Digital Tsunami. Amidst waves of lockdowns, unlocks and potential second waves, and facing unpredictable demand recovery, many organisations are contending with never-before envisioned Talent Management scenarios as they strive to ensure the safety, well-being and productivity of their employees. Rapid training and reskilling of the workforce on new technologies and processes, alignment to constantly changing business priorities, retention of key staff, hyper-agile workforce planning, robust communication strategies, heavily restricted employee mobility, and aggressive controlling of structural costs are only a few of the challenges HR teams are grappling with today.

In this session, we will discuss how the rapid progress of Covid-19 from China to the rest of the world impacted companies and HR teams across the globe, as seen and experienced by the speaker in his global HR leadership role. We will explore the Talent Management challenges faced by companies, lessons learnt along the way and the key success factors that are surfacing as individuals and organisations strove through the initial shock and prepare for the long and difficult recovery ahead.
